Analytical Reflection on Oral Presentation
Oral presentation has always been a challenge as nervousness has always
been a major problem for me whenever I am speaking in front of a crowd. Hence,
before the actual presentation, I had several practices with my team members
beforehand to overcome my problem. During the rehearsals, I felt that I was
able to articulate my ideas and speak fluently in front of my team members.
Unfortunately, nervousness took over me during the actual presentation, which
resulted in me leaving out crucial contents.
Thus, I received many negative feedback, one of which I was told that
my presentation was not in line with my report and my ideas were not delivered
smoothly. However, I was complimented for engaging the audience as well as
maintaining a good posture during the presentation.
With the experience and feedback, I realized to improve my
presentation I will have to overcome my fear of speaking in front of a huge
crowd. This can be solved with practices and experiences gained over time and I
believe I will get better dealing with it.
In conclusion, although I did not perform well during my presentation,
it was a fruitful experience. I will continue to further develop my presentation
skills by taking up any opportunities to present in class. Therefore, I hope
through those opportunities I will gain more experiences and confidence to give
presentations effectively in future.
